The Zathri Chronicles:
Babylon Survivor As Seen From Epsilon 3

Installment 2 : Mind War

Much greetings from Zathras, who has monitored all transmissions of Babylon 5 Survivor so far.  Zathras appeared in Holographic form to the quarters of Ambassador G'Kar and snagged a copy of his book.  Zathras tried Amazon.com but they sayings it would not be available in paperback for some time.  Without further adoings!

Zathras readings from the "Book of G'Kar".

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And so it was, that in the year 2272, there was a Great Contest in which   many great and mediocre characters would perish. It did not matter if they  were dead already, for they were brought back.  Perhaps their deaths were
"too good for them" the first time.  It mattered not.  For this time all would  die the same, through the steel door into the cold inscrutable void that  first bore the stars, and eventually all of us.

The verdict: Death by Spacing.

And lo, for ten long weeks, the contest continued, taking its toll as body  after body was jettisoned from the giant station. Then came the week the  week when the camp of the Mind Walkers made their last stand. Although they  had gladly sacrificed a rogue named Byron very early on, the Mindwalkers  were fiercely devoted to saving their most favored character, the blondest  and most fashionably appointed of all the Mindwalkers ......

Talia Winters.

Alas, the Mindwalkers were strong and of one mind; a unified presence to be  feared and respected. The battle waged until it was a contest of two - Talia  Winters, and the epitome of deception and betrayal - Mr. Morden.  A man so mysterious, he hath no first name. And so it came that Mr. Morden seemed  most likely to feel the horrors of explosive decompression. Surely, no one  could deserve it more. The agent of Darkness would soon return to the Great  Dark from whence he came. But then a cry of frustration was heard above the din .........

KILL MARCUS!

It was unexpected, it was an outrage! Marcus the Just? How could it be? Not
this noble squire!

All turned to see who could utter such a cruel thought, and just then they  saw fear in the Mindwalkers' eyes. They had gone too far. They had dared to  awaken a sleeping giant and had filled it with a terrible resolve. Suddenly  the League of Nonaligned Voters were united, and soon members of all races  and species began to smote Talia furiously. And there was a great scream as  the last of the Mindwalkers used up their votes and fell, their energy  spent. Their secondary e-mail addresses tapped out.

And they continued to see Talia's numbers rise.

And so it was that Morden, minion of evil, lived to tell the tale. He  explained it as a parable of nature. An old Minnesota proverb once stated  that "the snake doth eat the rat, unless there is a generous supply of tapioca to be found".   Morden knew that, in the great mystery that is the  Universe, he was indeed the Snake, and Talia, as it was finally revealed in  Season 2, turned out to be the rat. He smiled broadly and worked the crowd.

But the teachings of G'Quon tell a different story. The final defeat of the  Mindwalkers was because of the power of LOVE, not HATE. G'Quon himself once  said, "Be excellent to each other, and party on dudes". Truly, this is what  holds our Universe together. So while it is true that there are many that  HATE Mr. Morden, and many that HATE Talia as well, it was those who felt   love for Marcus, the hopelessly romantic virgin with a big pike, that turned   the battle that day. He who lay down his life for Susan, and yet was never laid by Susan.

And in the end there is but one truth:

Though all our beloved B5 cast will face the Great Maker in space soon enough, at least Talia was boffed.

And She Saw That it Was Good.

* Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*  * snort! *

Well, that was much interestings, was it not?  Zathras sees much from his home on Epsilon 3, and knows things even Draal  does not know.  One thing Zathras does not know is what that coffee stain is doing in the  Book of G'Kar.  Hmmm, not good.  Maybe Zathras knowings who is next. Maybe Zathras tells you.

Nah!

Stay tuned for more reports from Zathras from the SeeBS network's Epsilon 3 affiliate via The Great Machine.
