Until now one of Robert Blake's closest "Baretta" co-workers has remained silent on the Bonnie Blakely murder case, but now the parrot sings.

Blake was born Michael James Vijencio Gubitosi in Nutley, New Jersey on September 18, 1933, but most television fans know him as Robert Blake of Baretta fame.  As of  the murder of his wife outside a Southern California Italian restaurant on May 4, 2001, it seems the world knows him as the center of another Hollywood scandal worthy of O.J. Simpson.

Our reporter and ex-Crusade cast member, Mister Fluffy, is out of rehab. and on the case.  He was fortunate enough to pin down the famous Barretta bird, Fred, and make him sing.

Mister Fluffy : "So Fred, it's been a while.  When was the last time we met,?"

Fred : "The Crusade auditions I think.  I got the interview, but not the part.  Too bad JMS does not like pets."

Mister Fluffy : "I hear ya. So what do you know about this Blake murder thing?"

Fred : "Hey, I'm no stool pigeon.  I'm not here to sing.  I was not there that night."

Mister Fluffy : "But you worked along side Robert for years as his parrot.  You must has some idea."

Fred : "Hey, I'm a no parrot !  I'm a sulphur crested cockatoo ! "

Mister Fluffy : "Sorry, no need to be so cocky.  But back to Robert, you must have had some idea of what he was like after years working with him."

Fred : "Ya, the guy has a temper and a real snipe for a wife."

Mister Fluffy : "Are you referring to her criminal enterprises, her on-line scams, her attempts to marry money, her attempts to marry fame ... "

Fred : "The whole Hollywood animal community knew this one. You might have heard Bonny Lee openly bragged that she wanted to get pregnant by Christian Brando so that she would become an heir to "Marlon Brando's millions,' but that was nothing compared to what she tried in the animal community."  

"Remember Mister Ed?"

Mister Fluffy : "The talking horse? Of course, of course."

Fred : "Why are you licking you lips?"

Mister Fluffy : "Habit, just a cat habit."

Fred : "Well, Mister Ed told me she called him up and said she was 'hot to trot' and 'great in the hay.'  He was not about to be taken for a ride and did  not fall for the old nag."

"Yah, this babe was trouble.  She made the rounds, Flipper, Scooby Doo, Lassie, .... "

Mister Fluffy : "Back to the murder, Bonny Lee Blakely was shot after going out to dinner with Robert  .... "

Fred : "There's a woman who needed to learn to order take out ! "

Mister Fluffy : " Seriously, Bonny was shot parked in Robert Blake's vehicle a block and a half from the Italian restaurant behind a large dumpster, under a burned-out street light and he was wearing black?"

Fred : "You want me to shed light on that? auck , auck, auck  "

Mister Fluffy : "Don't you think that is suspicious?"

Fred : "Hey, this is a guy whose alibi for a murder is he went to retrieve a gun from the restaurant.  Lesson one on murder, never have the word 'gun' in your alibi."

Mister Fluffy : "So do you think he did it?"

Fred : "I'm not cock sure, but it's possible.  'Cockatoo sure' that is.  I'll be watching this trial."
