STEVEN SPIELBERG'S CONFLICT WITH A 1
As the DVD for Spielberg's film "Artificial Intelligence: AI"
prepares to hit the store shelves, the originality is in question. Nabisco,
the parent company that makes A1 steak sauce, has questioned the originality
of Spielberg's idea. Their
spokesman noted, "One look and it is obvious!" Mr.
Spielberg was asked where the idea came from and responded. "Well,
I was out with JMS, and we had just stopped by the pet store for catnip, got
a call from Aaron Sorkin, and decided to meet at a restaurant for lunch.
Sorkin ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer with the steak and Portobello
mushrooms."
"I looked at the menu to decide, and then it hit me."
"This was my idea !"
The people at Nabisco feel
differently.
"We've had this idea cooking
for years now. After seeing him in 'Ghostbusters,' we negotiated with Pillsbury
for the Pillsbury Dough Boy to play the lead role. Then Fruit Of The Loom
agreed to let the under ware fruits co-star."
It appears this is one more
conflict headed for the courts.
Mr. Spielberg did make some
comments on his next project
"It's a fantasy film, "Heist
57 : The Legend of the Stones. It's about a enchanted stone given to a boy
by his mentor. The stone holds the power to save the world or plunge it
into darkness...... "
Mr. Spielberg, "Heist
57?" "Yes,
sir I get my best ideas while eating." Published on: March
