MINBAR FILES PROTEST ON OLYMPIC SYMBOLS 

The controversial Salt Lake Olympic symbol

The Grey Council filed an official protest today over the Salt Lake city games symbol.

The council is irate over the continued usurping of Minbari cultural symbols for Olympic games held on Earth.  Minbar was surprised that in the first communications they ever received from the planet were Minbari graphics. Subsequent expeditions by Rangers confirmed their presence.

Buffoon, a member of the warrior caste, protested, "It's bad enough they take our best souls, now this !  They're robbing our culture.  What's next?  McSpoo?"

It appears this is a problem with a history.

Graphics resembling Minbari cultural symbols have been used in the past and are slated for use in the future.  This has been the foundation of a growing unrest among the people of the usually isolationist Minbar.  Sorval, a member of the worker caste, noted "We work so hard to make these beautiful images, and then they appear on trinkets. It makes my head spin.  Ever tried putting a head band on with a bone head?"

Ironically, there are some who object for non-isolationist reasons. Playaan, a member of the religious caste, pointed out, " After first seeing the videos of those perky teens in the tight outfits, I had a revelation.  Why not Minbar in 2268?

Torino's 2006 Symbol - Temple of Varni?

An intriguing thought, however there is a looming problem of the 2006 Olympics and the hijacking of the symbol of the temple of Varini.

When asked of all these matters, the International Olympic Committee said, "Min ... Who?"

This reporter did receive a press release from The Hand who contested the whole issue saying, "These crystalline structure are ours and we have the crystalline ships to prove it. This matter can easily be solved; we'll kill you all!"

 The Rangers tried to get a Olympic delegation to Minbar, however, they kept stopping off at holobrothels and soliciting brides.

In a related story, Centauri Prime is set to battle it out with the Narn homeworld over the 2268 games.  I wonder how that will turn out?
