Unlike most military caste Rangers, however, Durhann did not resign. He did however declare that as the F’hursna Sech, the master teacher of the fighting pike, he would not sanction human ownership of a Denn ‘Bok. No one may own a true fighting pike without the sanction of the F’hursna Sech and Durhann threatened to cease teaching all Rangers, breaking a necessary part of Ranger discipline and tradition, because of Human recruitment.

Saying he would uphold the honor of the ancient art and resign rather than teach the unworthy, Durhann faced Sinclair and challenged him with the Denn ‘Bok to see if Sinclair was indeed the right one to lead the Anla ‘Shok. Durhann conceded then that all Rangers would be trained with the pike, Human and Minbari alike, and those of both races who proved worthy might own the pike.

Among those known to have been trained by Durhann himself were Jeffrey Sinclair, Delenn, Marcus, Neroon, and Catherine Sakai. It was also noted that Durhann may have taken a hand in preparing the young trainee Tannier for his Mora ‘Dum on Babylon 5.

Together with Sech Turval, Sech Durhann consulted regularly with Entil ‘Zha Delenn over new training programs and the future of the Rangers, as more races joined the Anla ‘Shok under the new Interstellar Alliance.
