The Legend Of The Rangers : To live and Die In Starlight

Jeffrey Sinclair was born on Mars, but spent much of his youth on earth. He made career in Earthforce and participated in The Battle of the Line in the war between the humans and the Minbari. In the year 225,7 he was assigned as Commander of the 5th Babylonian station,
Babylon 5. Earth appointed him because the Minbari would not tolerate any other human commander for the interstellar space station. He served there for two years until he received a call from Earth Government that he was appointed earth-ambassador on Minbar. He accepted the offer. He soon found that the ambassadorial assignment was just a disguise for his real job which was much more wider.

During the Battle of the Line, he had been captured by a Minbari vessel. He could not remember much, but from time to time fragments appeared in his dreams. On Minbar he was confronted with two facts. First was that during his capture he was found to have the DNA of the great leader, Valen. Second was that he was the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy which said: at a time when the Shadows would come back a Minbari not born on Minbar would lead the Rangers in the fight against the Shadows . The religious cast of the Grey council believed this was Sinclair. He a hard time accepting this. However, Sinclair perceived the danger of the upcoming war and and for this reason, he accepted the position of Ranger One and train Rangers of various races. These including the humans and the Minbari. Under his leadership they became one team. Even his wife, Catherine Sakai, who had worked for IPX for a long time, decided to join the Rangers and fight the Shadows.

At the time Sinclair left Babylon 5, Delenn had gone through a transformation turning into a half human / half Minbari. Somewhere in the year 2260 (?) Sinclair received a letter. It had been written 1000 years earlier with orders that it be given to Ranger One on exactly that date. When Sinclair opened it, he saw it was written in his handwriting. It ordered him to go to to Babylon 5 to support Sheridan on a mission into a sector where the Shadows
opened a time rift to destroy the Babylon 4 space station. B4 seemed to have been an important weapon thousand years ago. If the Shadows were to succeed, the younger races would be attacked by Shadowships that should have been dead for a thousand years.

Another member of this group heading for B4 was a being called "Zathras." He worked for The Great Machine on Epsilon 3 ( E3 ) and assisted them them with time stabilizers. It is in the currents of space and time Sheridan, Delenn and Sinclair finally understood the whole truth. They are all "One" an entity to build a line against the darkness. Sinclair is the one who was, Delenn is the one who is, Sheridan is the one who will be. It is in that moment that Sinclair accepts the hidden truth the religious cast of the great council and the Vorlons always told him :He is Valen. Delenn had to go through the transformation to bring the balance again between the two races, humans / Minbari. When the others had returned to Babylon 5 after a successful mission, Sinclair stayed on Babylon 4 and used the device to turn into a Minbari. As Valen he defeated the Shadows thousand years ago and founded the Gray Council. His wife Catherine, who was lost during a maneuver in a time rift, found him in the past and stayed at Valen's side. He had to turn into Valen since the Minbari warriors in the past would not have accepted any other leader than a Minbari.
